Computer and Cyber Sciences Department

The Computer and Cyber Sciences Department empowers undergraduate and graduate students to expertly design and implement computational and cybersecurity solutions that tackle the world’s most challenging social, political, environmental, scientific, medical, economic and business problems in a socially just manner.

From the protection of business applications and data to the creation of specialized software used by journalists, artists, scientists and nearly every commercial and non-profit organization in the world, computer and cyber scientists are involved in the professions that improve the human condition and realize humanity’s potential. Hence, Computer and Cyber Sciences Department graduates are projected to continue to be in great demand for the foreseeable future, as software development and cybersecurity positions consistently rank among the top-rated jobs, including the number-one-rated job in the U.S.

Both our online and in-person classroom approaches utilize the same materials and learning outcomes, which are based on the curricular recommendations of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the IEEE-Computer Society, the two largest computing organizations in the world.

The B.S. in Computer Science is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org. Along with being the first online program to receive this prestigious accreditation, our Computer Science program has been offered fully online since 2002. We have offered a Computer Science degree in the classroom since the 1980s.

Culture of Excellence

Regis University is designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Regis is also the annual host of the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (RMCCDC).
